Taking care of the doors and warranty

If a door gets dirty, then wipe it clean with a damp cloth. If the stain does not come off with water alone, add detergent to the cloth. Spray detergent onto a clean cloth or dampen the cloth in another way. Wipe the surface clean and dry if necessary. No need to rinse. Furniture doors can be cleaned with regular household detergents. Do not use boiling water for cleaning.

  • Do not use abrasive substances and organic solvents.

  • The doors can be damaged by contact with very hot surfaces, such as pots or frying pans.

  • The doors must not be in constant contact with water, e.g. installed in a room with high humidity. (We recommend installing a door with PVC coating in a room with high humidity.)

Heat tolerance of doors with PVC coating

  • The doors meet the requirements set for furniture doors on the basis of SFS, EN, and DIN standards.

  • The heat tolerance of doors with PVC coating is -40 to +85 º C.

  • Furniture doors can be installed in cold rooms, but not in places where the temperature drops below -40 ºC.

  • Check the temperature of your oven’s housing prior to installation. If the temperature of the housing rises above the recommended limit for furniture doors, protector strips must be installed. (EN standard 60335-2-6: if the oven works at a temperature of 200 ºC for one hour, the maximum allowed temperature of the outer metal surface of the oven is 85 ºC.)

MDF FURNITURE DOOR WITH A PAINTED SURFACE
Materials used in the manufacturing process: MDF board (Medium Density Fibreboard) is a dense and hard fibreboard made of homogeneous wood fibers and glue using pressure and heat. In its products, Balteco Mööbel uses E1-compliant board.

  • The MFD boards are made in Germany.

  • Surface treatment: two-component acid-catalysed paint. Country of origin: Sweden.

  • The MDF boards that are painted in an automatic dyeing machine and milled with a CNC machine are treated five times. The front side has one or two coats of primer and one coat of paint, depending on the door model. The backside has one coat of primer and one coat of paint.

MDF FURNITURE DOOR WITH PVC COATING
Materials used in the manufacturing process: MDF board (Medium Density Fibreboard) is a dense and hard fibreboard made of homogeneous wood fibers and glue using pressure and heat. In its products, Balteco Mööbel uses E1-compliant board.

  • The MFD boards are made in Germany. The back side is covered with melamine.

  • Surface treatment: PVC film. Thickness 0.35 – 0.6 mm. Countries of origin: Italy, Germany and Japan.

  • The film has been UV-treated and covered with a scratch-resistant varnish.

  • Glue is sprayed onto the treated door blank and the film is then attached to the door’s surface at high temperature and pressure. Using a vacuum membrane press gives the door maximum temperature tolerance and durability.

USE

  • There are no special requirements for the storage of MDF furniture doors. However, the doors must not come into contact with water.

  • Be careful when handling the doors.

  • MDF furniture doors are sensitive to impact, especially around the corners and edges.

  • When making holes for a handle or hinges, make sure your worktop is clean. Debris on the worktop can easily scratch the door’s surface. Special care must be taken when handling varnished doors.

  • Remove the protective film from glossy PVC-coated doors.

  • You can eliminate defects caused by minor wear and impacts with colour correction. If the painted surface is damaged down to the surface of the board, the door is highly sensitive to moisture. In that case, we recommend replacing the door.

  • If the PVC coating is damaged, it cannot be replaced. In that case, we recommend replacing the door.

DISPOSAL

  • The products can be recycled, and applicable regulations must be adhered to when disposing of them.

  • Hydrogen chloride may be produced when PVC-coated doors are burned at low temperatures, so it is therefore not recommended to burn the product at home. It is also not recommended to burn painted furniture doors at home.

  • PVC film is plastic waste.
